As an ex-professional badminton player and instructor, most of the time I was using feather shuttlecocks for practicing. However, since the outbreak of Covid-19, all of the Hong Kong badminton was locked down and I’ve started using a lot of plastic shuttlecocks to play badminton in an outdoor area with my family, friends, and students.
Yonex mavis 350 shuttlecock, is one of my favorite nylon shuttlecocks which was recommended by a friend of mine who is also a badminton instructor based in the UK, he told me this is the selected shuttlecock used by the club he was teaching and he was very happy with the quality.
After all, I gotta say he is right and this is a high-quality shuttlecock worth the price. Other than that, the Yonex Mavis 350 are commonly used by high schools and clubs in America and Europe for junior training.
I have recommended the Yonex Mavis 350 as one of the best badminton shuttlecocks, in this article, I will write a full review regarding the Yonex Mavis 350 Shuttles.

A friend of mine who has never played badminton before just purchased all-inclusive badminton set from amazon and started playing the game just outside of his house in June. After 2 months he wants to switch to a better performance set, by August 2020, I’ve ordered 2 tubes of Mavis 350 shuttles as a little gift for him.
3 days later I received a call from him telling me he felt a huge improvement while using the same rackets and strings set, wearing the same shoes and socks!

Yonex Mavis 350 Badminton Shuttlecock – Hitting Experience
Feels
While playing in an indoor environment, the Yonex mavis 350 offers a very close flight pattern to feather shuttlecocks compared to other nylon shuttlecocks in the market. The flight pattern is accurate and consistent.
I would say it offers the closest to feather shuttlecocks during drives, drops, and serve, the net performance is great, too. But then for smashing? It’s probably the weakest area in terms of “offering close to feather hitting experience”.
We’ve performed an experience with Kawasaki King Kong 700 (Feather shuttlecock), Mavis 350, and a nylon shuttle from another brand.
Recovery Time
When a player smashes a shuttle, a Yonex feather shuttlecock could recover in around 0.015 seconds, while a Mavis 350 shuttlecocks could recover within 0.02 seconds and other ordinary shuttlecocks need around 0.028 seconds to recover.
Looking into the figures, you could notice that the Yonex Mavis 350 shuttles could provide a much faster recovery time and stable flying path.
Durability
We love the durability of Mavis 350, to test the durability of this shuttle, we’ve been using the Mavis 350 for 3 hours non stop section, a lot of smashing, drops, drives with my ex Hong Kong teammates last week, and 4 out of the 6 shuttlecocks survived.
Normally we could save only 2 out of the 6 shuttlecocks for the next day.
Price
Compared to other nylon shuttlecocks, Yonex Mavis 350 may be a bit expensive but then when we take into account the quality of this shuttle, I have to conclude that the mavis 350 is the best value option because of the excellent performance.
